Privacy Policy

KeepScroll is an app published by Moonphase that keeps public links to videos and pages, generates summaries, transcripts and other information from them, and answers questions about what you saved. This policy explains what data we use, what for, who it is shared with and how to exercise your rights. Contact: [email protected].

Data we use

• Account: name, email and identifier received when you sign in with Apple or Google. We never receive the password of those accounts.
• Library: the links you save, the public content obtained from them (title, author, caption, cover, speech and video frames), what the app generates from that content, your notes, folders and preferences.
• Chat and search: your questions, conversation history, answers, and the excerpts of your items used to find and cite them.
• Shared folders: invitations, members, items added, blocks and reports. Folder members see its items; your notes stay private.
• Subscription: whether you have KeepScroll Pro, the plan, the store and until when. Payment is handled by Apple or Google Play; we never receive your card details.
• Device: language, time zone, operating system, app version and the notification token, if you allow it. Infrastructure services receive your IP address when you connect, used for security and to deliver the service; the sign-in service keeps the approximate city and country of that address to protect your account. The app does not ask for your location.
• App usage (optional): usage events without content (for example, which onboarding step was seen or whether an answer found a source) and crash reports, tied to an account code and never to your name, email, links, titles or texts. Turn it off anytime in Settings → Anonymous app usage.

What we use it for

To create and protect your account; save and sync your library across devices; analyze the public content of the links you save; search and answer in the chat using only what you saved; run the shared folders you create or join; send the notifications you allow; manage your plan and usage limits; prevent abuse and fraud; and fix bugs and improve the app with usage data, when it is on.

The legal bases are performing our contract with you (the service you ask for), your consent (analysis by third-party artificial intelligence, app usage and notifications), legitimate interest (security and abuse prevention) and compliance with legal obligations.

Artificial intelligence

Before the first upload for analysis, the app asks for your consent. After that, the public content of the links you save is analyzed by third-party artificial intelligence models, which also describe the cover, build the search index, translate, and write the chat answers. To answer, they receive only your question, the short conversation history and the excerpts of your items used in the answer (including notes, when relevant). The providers are contracted to process this data only for KeepScroll.

AI-generated answers can be wrong: check the original before deciding anything important. You can report an answer right in the chat.

Who we share it with

KeepScroll uses contracted companies for: sign-in; hosting, database and processing; reading public social media posts; artificial intelligence models; subscription management; usage and crash analytics (if on); and sending notifications. Apple and Google process purchases and notifications on your devices. Each company gets only what it needs for its part, acts on our instructions and provides the same or equal protection of your data as described in this policy. You can ask for the list of these companies through the support email.

Some of these services are located outside your country; international transfers follow the safeguards of the applicable law. We don't sell your data, don't show ads and don't use your library for other users: what is shared between accounts is only the analysis of a link's public content and whatever you put in a shared folder.

Notifications

With your permission, we let you know when your first video is ready, at your library's milestones, before a free trial ends and, on Pro, if you go days without using the app. We may also send KeepScroll Pro offers; turn them off anytime in Settings → Pro offers. The overall permission lives in your device settings.

Videos and public content

Videos fetched for analysis are not kept: temporary copies exist only on the server during analysis and are deleted afterwards, including at the provider. Covers and analysis results are stored. The analysis of the same public link can be reused across accounts; notes, conversations and the link between an item and your account are not part of that cache.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete items and conversations in the app and delete your account in Settings → Delete account: items, notes, conversations, folders, settings and sign-in are erased from the server within minutes. You can also request deletion without the app: see how.

After deletion, the analysis of the links' public content may remain in the cache with no link to you; minimal records prevent a late sync from recreating data; usage events already sent stay with the analytics service without your name or email; and purchase records stay with Apple, Google and the subscription service for as long as the law requires. Deleting your account does not cancel your store subscription.

Your rights

You can confirm whether we process your data, access it, correct it, ask for anonymization, portability or deletion, learn who we share it with and withdraw consent. Much of this is already in the app (edit, delete, turn off anonymous usage and offers, delete the account); for the rest, write to [email protected]. We reply within 15 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Security

Connections are encrypted in transit, data access is restricted to your account on the server, and access codes are stored with your device's system protection. No system is 100% secure; if a relevant incident happens, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Children

KeepScroll is not directed to children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child sent us data, email support and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy; the date above changes when that happens, and we will let you know in the app if the change is significant.
